My first boat squadron in country was RivRon 11, more specifically RivDiv 111.  This gateway page will lead to several pages describing the early operations we took on as we went under fire almost immediately in early 1969.  There are lots of pictures on the following pages which show our life on the river.  Our first assignment was operating as a part of Operation Giant Slingshot off the USS Harnett County at Ben Luc on the Vam Co Dong arm of the slingshot.
